Course Outlines

EDGE Basics

This course is perfect for new employees.  What better way to ensure your staff is confident and effective with the Edge, than to have them trained by the people who wrote the package?  The day begins with an overview of the entire system and how to get around in it, then focuses on blending, sales, prepayments and inventory.

Prepayment Strategies

The Prepayment module is one of the key features of the EDGE.  This seminar is a refresher course with an emphasis on the correlation between prepayments and blending.  Topics covered will include recording deposits, setting prices and limits, prepayment purchases for straight products versus custom blends, price splits, modifying prepayment plans, prepayment adjustments, and transferring prepayment dollars between accounts.  We also review year end procedures to either reimburse unused prepayment dollars or roll them into the next year, as well as reviewing how to set up supplier deposits.

Reporting Tools

This seminar is an introduction to available reporting tools such as TCL commands, the wIntergrate Query Builder, Microsoft Access, and Crystal Reports.  It is designed to teach you the basics required to write your own reports, showing you how to make the most of the information contained in your EDGE system.

Inventory Costing & the GL

This course is about understanding the importance of how the information from your Inventory sub-ledger comes together in your General Ledger.  The goal is to help Edge Users understand how the Inventory sub-ledger and the GL value inventory and COGS, and what can be done to ensure the integrity of these figures.  The goal is accomplished by reviewing the purpose and functions of the GL in the context of a fiscal year end because inventory reconciliation is such a significant component of the fiscal year end process.
