Managing Shipping Methods is where you organize the ways grain leaves the terminal on Shipments.
What you'll find:
To add a new shipping method:
* indicates a required field (other fields are optional)
Navigate to Grain > Manage > Shipping Methods.
The Manage Shipping Method window opens.
Click Add.
The Add Shipping Method window opens.
Type a Code*.
The Code must be unique (15 char max).
Type a Description* .
The Description must be unique (30 char max).
New shipping methods are Active by default.
Check Default to select this method on all shipments automatically.
(it's just a default; you can pick a different one)
Click Save to save the Shipping Method.
The Add Shipping Method window closes
Click Exit to close the Manage Shipping Methods window.
The Manage Shipping Methods window closes.
FOB, RAIL and TRUCK - are added by agrē and have restricted editing.
They cannot be deleted, but they can be deactivated.
To edit a Shipping Method
Navigate to Grain > Manage > Shipping Methods.
The Manage Shipping Methods window opens.
Select the Shipping Method you want to change and click Edit.
The Edit Shipping Method window opens.
Make changes as needed.
Click Save.
The Edit Shipping Methods window closes.
If there's a Shipping Method you no longer need but has been used so it can't be removed, you can deactivate it. After a Shipping Method has been deactivated it can still be used with grain shipments that already have that shipping method but you would not be able to select it as a new shipping method on any other shipmens.
To deactivate a Shipping Method
Navigate to Grain > Manage > Shipping Methods.
The Manage Shipping Methods window opens.
Select the Shipping Method you want to deactivate and click Edit.
The Edit Shipping Method window opens.
Uncheck the Active checkbox.
Click Save.
The Edit Shipping Methods window closes.
Deleting a Shipping Method removes it from the database. A Shipping Method can be removed only if it has not been associated with any grain activity - but you can deactivate it if you no longer want to use it going forward.
To remove an Shipping Method
Navigate to Grain > Manage > Shipping Methods.
The Manage Shipping Methodswindow opens.
Select a Shipping Method and click Delete.
The Confirm Row Removal window opens.
Select Yes to remove the Shipping Method.
Select No to cancel the removal.
